Summer has been good to us- anytime there is dust in the air and we get to look forward to rain is special, in my opinion. Lots of projects going on around the area, and there are some shout outs I'd like to give.
Placid crew: The improvements on the Lussi property are great. Well done. Those trails keep getting better and better. Some day the DEC will let us legitimately improve the trails on the Loggers Loops.... In any case, there is a good map out right now on the site, so check it out if you haven't already(When you open the Loggers/Lussi trails spreadsheet page, click on the paperclip attachment icon on the top left, just like all of the trails pages. It's a BIG file- 40MB... be ready to download it for a bit- it'll be worth it).
Hardy road is getting more and more popular in Wilmington, which is nice to see. We'd be building more trail over there now if it weren't for the 1200' vertical 3.5 mile long downhill flow/cruiser trail we are so excited about right now... Student Conservation Crews have been working on it, and we hope that it will be passable the whole way through by the time winter rolls around. We've been working to make this route as suitable and fun for bikes as it can possibly be. BIG shout out to Adirondack Mountain Club for the great contributions they made at the Flume this year with lots of new bridging, dry tread, and re-routes.
You should be riding at Dewey right now. Signs are up, a map is about to get released, and it's DRY! Things are looking great up there. Thanks to everyone who made it out to our work day earlier this summer- the trail is a blast. Of course, big thanks to the map makers too. The future is looking bright for our map making capabilities!
Thanks to everyone who has made a donation, supplied materials, put in their own time and sweat, shared your beer on Wendsday night, let us ride on your property, and pretended to not be annoyed as we talk about and work on our trails non-stop...THANKS.
Goodnight
Matt
